To spool valve or not to spool valve is the question. Planet Eclipse has always made very high quality paintball parts and now guns. Their new GEO paintball gun, has vast improvements order now "old style" spool valve designs. Eclipse has simplified the spool valve design, eliminating what used to be very necessary, unreliable internal orings thus making the spool valve design much more reliable. This leave you with a dilemma, though. Go with the new GEO paintball gun or get the proven reliability of the EGO 09 and its new features.
Both the EGO 09 and the GEO paintball guns are very well constructed, both offer speed and reliability, and both will shot paint very quickly and accurately So do you go with the GEO with its spool valve design which is a little less air efficient, . shoots a little bit slower, but shoots a longer, slightly more accurate shot. Or should you go with the EGO and its air ram design, which is proven to be very reliable, and very very fast, very air efficient, but doesn't shoot quite as far as a spool valve gun. Tough choices, I know. There is another alternative though.
For those of you who don't want to have to think about which gun to get, you can always get the ETEK2 paintball gun. Eclipse released the original Etek back in 2006. Its the kid brother of the EGO paintball gun, but don't let that fool you. It has virtually the same speed as the EGO and is not a force to be reckoned with. Its perfect for the budged minded player who demands a good buy but doesn't want to skimp of performance.
