What is the difference between all the package?  4+1?  3+7?  Help!

Don't worry its not that confusing.  Its quite simple anyway.   All of the numbers like 3+5, 4+8, ect basically tell you how many 140rd pods (aka tubes) your harness would hold.    With the exception of the 4+1, and 6+1's where the plus 1 means the harness can hold a tank.    So for example.  If you like to roll around in the woods and use a remote coil, the 4+1harness may be for you.   It can hold 4 x 140rd pods PLUS 1 Air or CO2 tank (hence the name  4+1).  

Other packs like the Valken  4+7 Redemption Harness will hold 3 tubes always, then will have expandable elastic sleeves which will hold up to an additional 6 140rd tubes. (Description Cont.) ... common for someone to get shot in the harness.  So manufacturers try to keep the size of the harness to a minimum. 

Other than that, the more a harness costs, the better the materials are made out of.   The better lower lumbar support you get, and the less bounce you get.  "Bounce" referrers to how much a fully loaded harness moves vertically when your running around.   If you have a larger harness, you can carry as much as 1000rds rounds on you.  The the higher end, larger harnesses are designed specifically to minimize "bounce".
