What is Paintball?
Paintball is an exciting recreational game and organized sport played year round, outdoors and indoors. The most basic game is "capture the flag" where the object is to capture the other team's flag and return it to your team's "flag station" or home base for the win, while at the same time defending your own flag from the other team!
Every player and every person in or near authorized shooting areas, must wear eye protection designed for paintball, consisting of goggles and a face mask system. These are referred to in paintball as "goggles". Both teams start at their respective flag stations until the referees start the game. Once the game is stated its up to each team to defend their flag while trying to advance threw the field looking for the other team's flag. The referees keep track of starting/stopping the game, enforcing rules and safety regulations.
Each player uses a paintball marker also known as a paintball gun, powered by CO2 or compressed air, which shoots the paintball from the marker. Paintballs are colorful gelatin capsules, like many liquid filled pain medicines, filled with a bright colored, biodegradable and washable paint like liquid. Upon contact the paintball split open to leave a paint mark "splat" on a player and officially marks them out of that game. The more opponents that are marked out the easier it is to capture their flag.

What is Needed to Play Paintball?
Any commercial field will have the necessary marker, goggle system, and tank available for rent. More and more fields are now making accessories like harnesses (which hold more paintballs) and overall "jump suits" available to rent. Is Paintball Safe?
Statistically speaking paintball is the safest "extreme sport". It is up to your local field to provide proper safety measurers. If your new to the sport, make sure ask for the safety and rules orientation prior to play. Players are expected to follow the rules for safe all day play.
