When Planet Eclipse manufactured the first Ego it created an overnight revolution in the world of tournament-level Poppet-Valve based markers. By combining reliability, efficiency, performance, ease of maintenance, light weight, balanced design and
compact dimensions in a package that was as easy to tech and service as it was to shoot
high-speed strings on the field, it became an instant success with players, techs, and
dealers alike. 4 years on, and with 3 years of development and testing behind it, Eclipse are
ready to do to the Spool-Valve market what they did to the Poppet-Valve market back in late 2004 with our new breed of marker... the Eclipse Geo.
The new solenoid assisted spool valve design Planet Eclipse developed for the
EOS is ground breaking. Eclipse basically took the old un reliable spool
valve design and added reliability to it by simplifying it. Just how
Eclipse took an outside look at air ram design guns back in 2004 when they
release the Ego which revolutionized the industry (and put other paintball gun
manufacturers out of business) they did the same thing with a spool valve
design. By just simplifying the bolt design, they were able to eliminate
half the o-rings needed by a traditional spool valve gun. This is huge
because whenever you are at the field you always see someone changing the seals
on a Dye or Smart Parts gun. Eclipse has successfully gain the best
of both worlds, the distance and accuracy of a spool valve gun, without all the
old down time usually required with one!
Another new feature for the 09 GEO is a dual trigger switch. The Planet
Eclipse paintball guns
have always in the past had a optical trigger switch. A beam of light
(laser) sensed when the trigger past threw the sensor to start the firing
sequence. This as also been a very reliable and effective system.
There are some paintball players out there who swear by a micro switch trigger
and not an optical sensor. A micro switch is just what it sounds like, a
little switch. They usually like to hear the switch click on and say its
better performing because its more reactive to the trigger pull. Eclipse
in the 09 GEO put both an optical trigger and a micro switch in the gun.
You can control and adjust which trigger switching device you would like to use.
So tin the GEO 09 you get the best of both worlds. It also makes a good
back up system.
The new S3 inline regulator allows a higher flow rate threw the regulator,
which helps with lower operating pressure, less chance for shoot downs, and can
allow for use of a LP tank, which can add to shot on shot velocity
consistencies. The regulator also has a self bleeding feature which is
great safety feature. The regulator will sense when a tank is detached
from the gun, and will bleed any remaining stored air inside of the regulator
body. This prevents the chance of a gun accidentally mis firing, which is
a problem in paintball.
